Internet marketing and social media predictions for 2013!

Internet marketing and social media predictions for 2013!

It is that time of year again where we try to predict the future and look forward to all of the social media and Internet marketing for B2B companies for 2013. These are not pie-in-the-sky predictions, but based on observing how B2B companies have adopted social media over the past year. When we look back at 2013, we will see a banner year with explosive growth in B2B social media. In many areas there will be continued gradual growth started in 2012 or earlier. If you have your own predictions or you disagree with ours, please let us know.

Internet marketing and social media predictions for 2013

What should your company do in 2013 that is different for social media and Internet marketing? That is the question that most businesses are hopefully starting to think about now In December 2012.
This is not a shot-in-the-dark exercise, but one based on observing how B2B companies have adopted social media over the past year. I believe there’s going to be a whole new convergence of social media and Internet marketing like never before.
Video marketing is going to be huge, Twitter is going to have a more prominent role in companies who never used to before and connecting with your clients or your potential clients via social media is good be critical for companies who want to see explosive growth in 2013.

Internet marketing and social media predictions for 2013

1. There will be huge growth in using social media for lead generation. Companies who realize that social media is a unlimited gold mine of leads and the ones who focus on learning how to use social media to generate leads will be the winners in 2013.

Social media, including LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook will provide new and lower cost opportunities for B2B companies to generate leads, and the adoption of this continues to be slower than social media advocates would have you believe. Many B2B marketers still struggle to get the mechanics, tools and resources in place to build a robust social media lead generation program. More B2B companies will see success in generating leads with social media, and the ones who take it to the next level will be the serious winners in 2013.

2. B2B CEOs will remain on educated and skeptical about social media.

It amazes me that so many large companies still have not jumped on the Internet marketing and social media bandwagon. I can’t tell you how many companies who generate $30-$40 million a year. Still haven’t embraced Internet marketing, social media, and using their website to market their companies in a robust way.  The disconnect between B2B marketers and their CEO about the value and application of social media will remain. Just like with the adoption of social media lead generation, there will be slight improvement, but it will not be a banner year. Many CMOs have seen the light, but there is not enough evidence from inside and outside the organization to convince the CEO. They will need another year of the pain of higher cost and inefficient lead programs before shifting to more cost effective social media marketing.

3. The rift between B2B companies creating new content on a regular basis and updating their websites and those who don’t will widen greatly.

Remarkable content will continue to distinguish B2B companies from their peers and competitors. Marketers who have mastered the art of blogging, ebooks, visual content and video storytelling (YouTube)  will forge stronger relationships with prospects, customers and advocates, while those who don’t will get left behind. Customer expectations will drive this disparity even more in 2013. So get on the content bandwagon and also start creating YouTube videos and having your own channel on YouTube.

4. The skills of B2B marketers will expand as content gets more visual

It, not just storytelling and interpreting data, but the new world marketers who will write their own tickets in 2013 are those who have a graphic design or photography background. It’s going to be all about connecting with your clients in new ways never thought before. For instance one company, started tracking clients who spent between three and 500 dollars by looking them up on Twitter and Facebook.  By following what they were talking about, they learned what was important to them, and then did something extraordinary for them like buying them an autographed jersey of their favorite football quarterback on eBay.
This $350 investment in a client who only spent between $300 and $500 and it ended up with $100,000 order. The smaller explosive platforms like Pinterest and Instagram have driven up the importance of visual content, but Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn have all continued to incorporate rich media into their platforms. Marketing communication is no longer just about great writing. Look for fewer words from top B2B marketers and eye-catching visuals that promote compelling offers.

5. Data becomes more than a buzzword

B2B marketers who really understand the data components of their social media efforts in 2013 will be more valuable than ever. Google analytics is an important part about reading the data that is coming in to your website, but not only the data. It’s also about how you interpret it. This is not about better measurement, but about compiling data to gain better insight into customers and prospects. This kind of data mining and interpretation gives marketers a more holistic view of social media profiles and activities, which lead to smarter and more informed actions. Google analytics now offers social media metrics tracking in their platform, which is a truly amazing thing.

6. The role of marketing automation becomes clearer

Sometimes B2B marketers need to say the name of their tools out loud to understand what they do. “Marketing Automation.” Say it again. “Marketing Automation.” You didn’t just say, “Sent spammy emails.” Expect to see better use of marketing tools in 2013 as B2B marketers do more than set up email drip campaigns, but unleash the full power of these tools to automate repetitive activities or other things that computers do better than people. I just discovered a phenomenal tool that allows me to really analyze the Backlinks coming into a website to figure out which ones are good Backlinks and which ones are bad Backlinks. Until now Google didn’t penalize you for having bad Backlinks, but with the Google Penguin and panda updates. Now they do. Once you find out which ones are the low-quality or bad Backlinks you can use the Google
disavow links tool to tell Google to disavow or disregard the bad links which can dramatically increase your rankings that might have been good before.

7. Mobile Strategies Catch Up to Reality and responsive design.

As each mobile device is released, it sells more than its predecessor. This will continue in [2013] and we will get closer and closer to the day the mobile web dominates B2B site traffic. B2B companies are on course to develop their mobile strategies so they can move forward with their customers. This takes me to the next huge thing in 2013, which is responsive design.
Responsive design is designing your website or upgrading your website with cross browser and cross platform integration. That means your website will show up looking the same way in every major browser, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome, Safari, and also all of the mobile devices such as android and iPhone. If every B2B marketer took their smart phone out of their pocket and suffered through their own website, this really would drive the creation of mobile-friendly sites.

8. B2B Marketers will determine relevant social media metrics

Overall social media adoption hinges on better and more appropriate metrics. Websites that can track and provide these metrics will become more and more relevant and important in 2013. Lots of B2B marketers are still measuring vanity metrics or optimization metrics and reporting them as results. The tactics of increasing your reach to drive in more leads will become more and more important.

9. B2B Marketers will get addicted to social media ads

B2B marketers will explore additional ways to build their audience and drive traffic to their lead-generation landing pages. Not only do social media ads fit this bill as a new tactic, but these ads will be less competitive and more cost-effective than pay-per-click (PPC) ads throughout 2013. Facebook ads, LinkedIn ads, as in other social media platforms will change as more marketers start using them, but they will be regular part of the tool set before that happens.

10. Email usage will grow as B2B marketers struggle to generate leads with social media

As customers and prospects continue to click on email offers, B2B marketers will keep sending them, but with diminishing returns. This is still interruptive marketing, while social media acknowledges that the customer or prospect is in charge of the relationship. The majority of companies still don’t have any kind of email offers or sign-up forms on the front page of the website. This will become more and more important in 2013 as the top of mind aspect that having a autoresponder solves will be crucial in 2013.

There is still a tremendous amount of work for B2B marketers to do in 2013, but we know you can do it with planning, remarkable content, marketing and sales alignment and executive buy-in.

I am putting on a training Webinar for all of this Jan 10th and 11th 2013.

It's normally $429 but is on right now for a steal of a deal.

Why it is so important to have a autoresponder on the home page of your website as people who come to your website are not always ready to buy right now.

Why it is so important to have a autoresponder on the home                        page of Your Website as people who come to
your website are not always ready to buy right now.

Have you ever gone on to a website to do some research about something and you're just not ready to buy right away. Many people have, and including people on your website as well.

That's why it is so important to have a autoresponder on the front page of your website to capture people's email addresses, names, and cities they are in.

Internet-marketing-training-2

Having an autoresponder allows you to follow up with preformatted messages that are delivered on a regular basis as a system, as opposed to having to email each person every single day or week. I yourself which can be very bright, time-consuming.

It is very important to follow the rules for emailing when you're using an autoresponder and here are five great rules you should follow when following up with the client and emailing them from a form on your page.

1. Make sure that the emails that you are sending out have great value and are not just emails trying to sell them on something.

2. Make sure that you send out the seven emails over seven days, thanking them for signing up to your list as well as at the and of each email, tell them briefly what the next one is going to be about.

3. At the end of each email. Make sure you include your contact information. Nothing is more frustrating than wanting to contact somebody off by email and not being able to see their email address or their contact phone number.

4. Make sure your email has deliverability tracking city can tell how many clients are actually opening it.

5. Lastly make sure that you have a opt out link at the bottom of all your emails to comply with the rules and regulations for the location and area you're in.

There are many autoresponder services to use, like constant contact, AWeber, mail chimp, infusionsoft. The one I like to use personally is called ARP, as it installs on the backend of my website server and it has great functionality and great features as well as a one time price as opposed to a ongoing price. Like most of the other services.

If you would like more information on this as a Calgary marketing company I would be happy to talk to you.

Calgary Reputation Management | Calgary Marketing Firm |  403-246-7386

Calgary marketing firm The Executive Edge, provides online marketing reputation management services including local business listing submission, Google reviews, yelp reviews, home star reviews local review assist, and reputation management.

Google
Local businesses where introduced to Google Places in 2010. Now Google has blended in Google places with Google plus and if consumers are searching for a local business, product or service they will see a list of businesses related to their search on the top page of Google. They are identified by the "red pin"

Why is First Page Ranking are so critically Important.
It's like being on the front cover and back cover of the old yellow pages with a full page color ad. The higher your rankings the higher the number of potential customers will view your site. We are number one, page 1 of Google for several key phrases like Calgary marketing company. The first position, position number one, page 1, gets about 42% of the click-through s. Position 2 receives a staggering 70% less click-through s and only receives roughly 12% of all traffic. Position 3 receives only 8% and thereby drops about 28% compared to position 2.Studies have shown that the majority of people who search online will click on one of the top three listings on the first page search results.

3 Ways to Protect Your Online Reputation
When it comes to business marketing, one of the most important things to consider is your online reputation.  Remember that 90 percent of all consumers search the Internet to look for products and services; therefore, what those consumers find online about your business will determine whether or not they choose you over the competitors.  There are so many forums in which both happy and disgruntled customers can air their emotions about your business -- including social networking sites, review sites, and blogs, among others -- and it is your responsibility to manage what is being said about your business.  How do you do that?  Here are three ways to protect your online reputation:
Good business practices.  Think of it this way: when you are doing things the "right" way, and acting as an upstanding business entity, it will be harder for people to say bad things about you online.  Stock your website with relevant and useful content, participate in social forums in a positive and progressive way, and exhibit good customer service practices in order to stay on peoples' good sides.

Respond to negative reviews.  Of course, you can't please everyone.  It is inevitable that you will eventually face a bad review or two (or more).  Rather than dwell on the negatives, it is best that you learn how to respond appropriately, so that you can actually turn a bad review into a positive testament of your business practices.  (Yes, it IS possible.)  First of all, don't ever ignore negative reviews; doing that is as bad as agreeing with what is being said.  When you do respond, keep all emotion out of it; instead, console the customer on having had a bad experience and offer a viable solution.  For example, if a customer posts a review complaining about the service in your salon, offer a coupon and ask the customer to come back in and see you personally, for a better experience.

Monitor your online reputation.  While you can't remove things like bad reviews and negative social media gossip circulating about your business, you can take steps to counter negative occurrences as soon as they happen (and before they get out of hand).

You want to be in control of your own results.
What are people saying about your business?
The first step is to find out what people are saying about your business online. The best way to do this is to simply Google your business name. Are there any reviews about your company on the first page?

In a nutshell, your online reputation is made up of everything about your business that exists online. The range of materials that could potentially impact your business' online reputation is broader than you might realize at first. Here are just some components of your online image:

1. Comments made about your business on social media such as Twitter or Facebook
2. Images about your business online
3. Videos about your business (Good or Bad) on YouTube and elsewhere
4. Posts and articles published online about your business
5. Geo-location information broadcast through services like Foursquare
6. Comments that others make about you in social media or in blog posts
7. Images of your business that others publish on social media

Why I love using Dragon Dictation for social media posting.

Creating social media posts on a regular basis should be the goal of every small business who can leverage the power of social media for creating educational information as well as Backlinks for the website.
As a Calgary Marketing Company I'm always looking for better and faster ways to use my Internet technology and my systems to help my clients and myself do things more efficiently.

In my Internet marketing programs and training I teach about the importance of blogging and how to blog properly.

In our high tech world of information overload. It's very important that we stand out from the crowd with our blog post we put out, which are our messages to our clients and potential clients.

The messages shouldn't be salesy or spammy and should not be just trying to sell them something.
Here are some of the rules that you should follow one blogging. So people actually read your messages and therefore they will trust you as an authority in your industry and business.

1. Don't try to sell directly from your blog, if you're like me, you probably get over 100 spam junk emails every single day. Most of them trying to sell you something.
2. Why don't we buy from these people who are trying to sell us things in our email box every single day?
3. Number one, they're trying to sell us something and we don't want to be sold, number two, we don't know them.
4. It's very important to create a relationship with your audience and the best way to do that is to give away valuable free information on a regular basis, not pulling any punches or holding anything back.
5. Make your messages, fun and interesting, tell a great story, give away some great free information that is truly valuable, or show somebody an example of how either you or one your clients made a lot more money using some of your tips.
6. Don't just create a blog post with your next sale or your next offer, I call this the buy from me, buy from me, buy from me post.

I use speech to text dictation software to create this blog post and am doing so during one of my Internet marketing training, webinars.
I find that using Dragon dictation is a phenomenal quick way of creating blog posts, as opposed to have this type them out ( I type one finger at a time ) and therefore Dragon allows me to create blog post quickly and easily.

I be happy to help you and show you more about this, just contact me.

Did Your Ranking take a nosedive after the Google Penguin and Panda Updates?
Do you think your competitors are creating bad links just to tank your rankings?

What it is and when to use it?
"The primary purpose of this tool is to help clean up if you've hired a bad SEO or made mistakes in your own link-building."
Can help with negative SEO.
Now, Matt Cutts is saying in his video that "only If you've been notified of a manual spam action based on "unnatural links" pointing to your site, this tool can help you address the issue". If you haven't gotten this notification, this tool generally isn't something you need to worry about.

I think that isn't true and you should use this tool, if you have properly analyzed your links and you have figured out that you have some unknown links or some terrible spammy links, whether Google has contacted you are not.

Now I will be teaching a lot of this in an upcoming webinar. I have on Nov 1st and 2nd 2012.

in your “alt” tags (both good things).

· Having a lot outgoing or reciprocal links pointing to “bad” sites (like link
farms) – can negatively impact rankings.

· Whether you have unique content (which the SE’s like).

· How frequently you update your site. Faster isn't necessarily better. Check
what ranks well for your niche and aim to match it.

· Whether your domain includes your primary keywords.

· Your domain’s age, reputation, IP address and whether it’s a top level domain
(e.g., a .com is better than a .info although probably not by much).

· Shady practices such as keyword stuffing or using text that’s the same color as
the background can negatively affect your rankings. Only an issue if your site
gets manually inspected and you don't have a legitimate reason for it.

· Showing one page to the search engines and other page to visitors negatively
affects your rankings. (Cloaking and doorway pages.)

· Frames negatively affect your rankings.

· Using content that the search engines can’t read, like audios, flash, videos,
graphics (without alt tags), etc.

· Whether you have a robots.txt file that tells the search engine bots to stop
crawling or indexing your site.

Does domain age help?
Yes – search engines view older domains as more trustworthy, which means older
domains may have a slight advantage. But this is only true if the older domain has a
good reputation (e.g., it hasn’t been blacklisted, penalized or banned from the search
engines).

Why would I want to 301 redirect an aged domain?
Google passes link juice/authority/age/ranking strength (call it what you like) from
one domain to another if you do a 301 redirect on it. For the less tech savvy out there
the 301 code means “permanently moved” and is a way to announce that your site that
was once “here” is now “there”.

The upshot of this is that you can buy an aged domain and “301” it to the site you’re
trying to rank instantly passing on all that lovely ranking power that it’s acquired just
by sitting in some domain squatters account for 10 years.

Just make sure they do a domain push at the same registrar it was originally registered
at or all these effects are lost. Also, you have to wait up to 2 weeks to see the benefits.
They are not instant!
What is rel="canonical"?
If you have two or more pages with similar content, you can tell Google which is your
preferred page to show in the search engine results. This is referred to as your
“canonical” page. If Google agrees this designated page is the best version, it will
show this preferred page in its index.

To tell Google which page you want listed as the canonical page, add the following
bit of code into the head section of the similar (non-canonical) pages:
<link rel="canonical" href="http://www.example.com/filename.html"/>
Naturally, you should replace the example.com/filename.html with your actual
domain name and file name.
For example…
Example.com/file1.html is your preferred canonical page, the one you want displayed
in the search engine results. You don’t have to add any tags to this site.
Example.com/file2.html and Example.com/file3.html have similar content to
example.com/file1.html. As such, you’d place the canonical code within the <head>
tag of these two sites to tell Google that example.com/file1.html is the most important
page.
The most common reason to do this is to tell Google that these pages are all the same
· Example.com
· www.example.com
· Example.com/index.html

Don’t go overboard with this and certainly don’t use it on stuff like paginated
comment pages because they are “similar” but contain the same post. They contain
enough unique content to be treated as unique and Google will start to ignore your
legitimate canonicals if it finds too many instances of you misusing it.
Yes, Google thinks it’s smarter than you, deal with it and move on.

What's the truth about duplicate content?
There is no duplicate content penalty when it comes to multiple sites. Otherwise, your
shady competitors could just create near-clones of your site to make your site
disappear. But that doesn’t happen. Indeed, run a search for a PLR article and you’ll
likely see many SE results for that same article.

So there you have it. In my next post I will be discussing, Site maps, Frsh content on your site and Meta Tags.

Calgary SEO- The First step...........

Hi, Allan Fine here again and here is the next article on Calgary Seo.
I really hope you find it helpful for your business and educational.

Seo_services

Basic SEO 101

What is SEO?

SEO = Search Engine Optimization, ie getting your site ranked higher so more people show up at your doorstep. In theory we’re interested in all search engines. In practice SEO = Google.

What's the difference between SEO and SEM?

While some people use SEO and SEM interchangeably, SEO (search engine optimization) is actually a part of SEM (search engine marketing).

SEO refers to the process of using on and off page factors (typically free) to get your web pages

ranked for your chosen keywords in order to get more search engine traffic to your sites. SEM takes it a step farther to include using paid search engine listings and paid inclusion to get more traffic to your websites.

What's the difference between paid and organic search listings?

Organic search engine listings are the main results users see when they do a Google search. The websites appearing in the organic listings appear because those sites are most relevant to the user’s keywords. Indeed, most of these sites appear in the top of the search engine results because the webmasters of these sites have used SEO tactics to ensure top rankings.

The paid (or “sponsored”) listings usually appear on the top, bottom and to the right of the regular organic listings. Usually these are pay per click (PPC) ads, which means the website owner only pays when someone clicks on his ad (as opposed to paying for impressions).

This isn’t an either/or game. Just because you do SEO doesn’t mean you can’t/shouldn’t use PPC and vice versa. Now for me, PPC isn't something I really use anymore. I much prefer investing my money in natural SEO and SEM.

As for me, these are long-term solutions to Internet marketing. Where as PPC is only a short-term solution because when you stop paying for PPC, you don't get anymore results.

With that in mind, though, I think PPC can be extremely valuable as a short-term solution, or to shore up key phrases that you don't rank well on all.

SEO is not free traffic, it takes time and/or money to get good organic rankings but in the long run it’s usually cheaper than PPC.

What's on-page SEO?

  • On-page SEO refers to the things you do on your own site to enhance it’s ranking in the search
  • engines. This includes but is not limited to:
  • Creating content around specific keywords.
  • Formatting/designing your site so that the most important keywords are emphasized and appear near the top of the page.
  • Including the chosen keywords in meta tags.
  • Including the keywords in the navigation menu and other links.
  • Using your keywords in other parts of your site, such as the title of the page, the file name, etc.
  • Using related keywords on the site (see the question on LSI for more information).

What's off-page SEO?

Off page SEO refers to those things you do outside of your own web pages to enhance their rankings in the search engines. This is a glorified way of saying, “get links” and did I mention, “more links”.

How quickly will I see results?

If you target long tail keywords you can see results pretty quickly but always remember SEO is a long term strategy not a set and forget thing.

If you’re after more competitive keywords prepare to commit to it for at least three months of consistent effort.
In my next article I''l be talking about some Advanced SEO coming up.Stay tuned....

Reputation Management- What you absolutely must know!

IIIIIII'm back,

Like you I also shop on the Internet on a regular basis and sometimes when doing my research, If I find negative things written about the company or product. I won't even buy it or contact them. Sometimes.
Yikkkkkes!

Do you know what people are writing about your company, trust me they are reviewing you on Google places, Yelp, posting about your company. Who is in control, them or you?

So here it comes as promised with a series of articles about reputation management and what you can do for your company.

3 Ways to Protect Your Online Reputation.

When it comes to business marketing, one of the most important things to consider is your online reputation.  Remember that 90 percent of all consumers search the Internet to look for products and services; therefore, what those consumers find online about your business will determine whether or not they choose you over the competitors.  There are so many forums in which both happy and disgruntled customers can air their emotions about your business – including social networking sites, review sites, and blogs, among others – and it is your responsibility to manage what is being said about your business.  How do you do that?  Here are three ways to protect your online reputation:

Good business practices.  Think of it this way: when you are doing things the “right” way, and acting as an upstanding business entity, it will be harder for people to say bad things about you online.  Stock your website with relevant and useful content, participate in social forums in a positive and progressive way, and exhibit good customer service practices in order to stay on peoples’ good sides.

Respond to negative reviews.  Of course, you can’t please everyone.  It is inevitable that you will eventually face a bad review or two (or more).  Rather than dwell on the negatives, it is best that you learn how to respond appropriately, so that you can actually turn a bad review into a positive testament of your business practices.  (Yes, it IS possible.)  First of all, don’t ever ignore negative reviews; doing that is as bad as agreeing with what is being said.

While you can’t remove things like bad reviews and negative social media gossip circulating about your business, you can take steps to counter negative occurrences as soon as they happen (and before they get out of hand).  Make use of monitoring tools like Hootsuite, Google Alerts, and Socialmention to identify trends in what people are saying about your business online, and then develop strategies to diffuse any negativity that springs up around your business name.

Online reputation management is a complex process, but it is also tantamount to your business success.  To make the most of your online reputation, you may want to enlist the help of qualified and competent professionals like us, The Executive Edge.  We can be reached by phone, at  403–246–7386 , or at support@executiveedge1.com.

Thank you for your time,
Get bad reviews and posting dealt with.

We look forward hearing from you.

Top Reasons Your Business Needs To Be 'LinkedIn'(and How to get tons of free leads!))

Top Reasons Your Business Needs To Be on 'LinkedIn'
If you own a small to medium sized business and your organization doesn't have a profile on LinkedIn, you are missing out on a huge opportunity to get noticed.
Linkedinmarketing-processmapsmall

Not only does LinkedIn have over 100 million users, but the social network also:
*Gets Over 4 Million Hits Per Day
* Ranks 12th Globally And 10th For the U.S. On Alexa
*Has 1,000 New Professional Groups Created Every Day
*Gets 1 New Member Every Second
*Contains More Than 1 Million Company Profile Pages
*Has Executive Profiles From All Fortune 500 Companies
*And Much More

The bottom line is that LinkedIn is the largest professional network in the world and it is only getting bigger. Just by putting your profile on LinkedIn, you have access to millions of professionals, all over the world. Never before have professionals been so accessible in one place.
Think about it. In the past, you used to have to travel all over creation to attend seminars and meet-and-greets with the top VIPs in your industry. Go to dozens of networking events, just to get the same amount of contacts you can in 1 week on Linkedin. Of course people still do this as it is a great way to network and get noticed, but with LinkedIn, you no longer have to do that.
With a LinkedIn profile, you can display your skills and experience, you have access to professionals without having to go through gate-keepers and you can also gain insider
knowledge within your specialty. Where on earth can you get all of that information and access but the biggest professional social network on Earth? Nowhere. That is why we are insane for LinkedIn and you should be, too.

What Can LinkedIn Do For Your Business?
Just in case you are still on the fence about LinkedIn, let's look at a few more points you should consider. It is completely understandable to be hesitant about getting involved with yet
another social network. Facebook marketing can be exhausting, Twitter marketing can give you a headache and now someone is asking you to get on another social network?
If time is tight, it is understandable to resist the LinkedIn revolution.

But hang on. Whether you provide services or sell products, you are always interested in more exposure, leads, customers and sales, right?
Well, what if you were told that there was a shortcut to finding great projects and clients?

Well, what if you were told that there was a shortcut to finding great projects and clients?
What if you were told how easy it is to rise to the top of your field?
And what if you were told that you have the opportunity to meet the ideal candidate for a rock-solid joint venture that makes you tons of money?

Would you be interested then? Especially if you found out the method was free?
You get all this with LinkedIn. This isn't just another social network. It is your key to more exposure, higher rankings and more sales, partnerships and networked professionals. And
you are going to learn how to rise to the top quickly using expert techniques that have been gleaned through years of intense study.
In my next post I'll talk about how to get those FREE leads...

Google Penguin and panda update recovery 101 !!

Don't run for cover, Just listen up.

Panda-and-penguin
Like the previous updates from Google, such as the Panda, the latest Penguin update Has many webmasters and website owners scrambling from the destruction. When Google massively changes its algorithm. You have to react and react quickly. Here are some great tips and great information to help you recover. If your search engine rankings have dropped.

As a Calgary marketing company, our job is to help our clients and our potential clients ( that's you) with great information on SEO and Internet marketing.

I love organic search results, and organic search traffic from Google and other major search engines constitutes around 50% of all Internet traffic.
About eight years ago. I stopped spending tons of money on Google ad words and other pay per click and now I rely almost entirely on natural search engine traffic. So losing valuable visitors and customers as a result of a penalty arising from The Google Penguin and panda update and webspammy SEO techniques can be devastating for any startup, business, blogger or Internet entreprenuer.

This article discusses the steps needful to revert from Google SEO penalties and act re-appearing in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). This great information will tell you exactly what to do moving forward.

first off, do you have this done properly:

  • Got clean sitemaps?
  • Still have duplicate content issues?
  • Have you integrated social sharing features across your site?
  • Got the best practices of SEO covered (remember, we like SEO…)
  • Do you have a webmaster account activated at the all of the search engines?
  • How’s your robots.txt file doing? Blocking the right stuff?
  •
1.Perform a full website and SEO audit on your site.

Google doesn't channelise the intricacies of their algorithms. It's happened before that sites soul disappeared as a ensue of bugs on Google's indorse of things. So no one can archer you incisively why your website or diary dropped out of the rankings - tho', if you meshed in fastening structure journal rings then that is a fair overt soul.

It's grave to fulfill a athlete website SEO scrutinize with a accent on any and all voltage SEO problems that strength head to penalties.

What does an SEO audit involve?

Here’s what your SEO audit should include at a minimum:

    • Webmaster tools: Helps to find unwanted, low PR (PageRank) back links
    • On-site SEO: Have you checked your site for duplicate content? Stub pages? Caching? Aggregation? Speed? Performance? Malware? SEO keyword stuffing?
    • Off-site SEO: Have you got plenty of niche backlinks from quality resources? Is anyone talking about you in social media? News? Blogs?
    • Backlinks: This is the main culprit in the recent Penguin algorithm update. One of the most likely candidates if you have been using unethical SEO services up ’til now
    • Google analytics: Can pinpoint drops in search traffic and relate it to any major search algorithm updates. This may provide clues as to the type of SEO problems your blog or site succumbed to

    2. After performing a complete SEO audit, it is time to work out what SEO features of your site or blog are the best candidates for improvement. Usually it's going to be on site page optimization and Backlinks.

Spammy backlinks are Number one on Google's hit list

Here are the most likely reasons for a recent drop in the search engine results pages:

    • Poor quality backlinks: If you’ve joined a blog ring, or paid for backlinks… well, I trust you’ve learned your lesson
    • Lack of fresh content: Adding Content to your site Eight years ago and expecting to remain at the top of search results is not realistic
    • Over optimization: If you spend more time working for search engines than human visitors, you are not being productive
    • Poor SEO: If you have not implemented any of the major SEO guidelines then its possible that straightforward SEO could fix the problem
    • Lack of buzz or social interaction: Google takes into account what other people think of your site or blog. If no-one is interested in your site, is it realistic to think Google will be?

Fixing the above SEO issues can take time and effort, and it can take even longer for your site to reappear in the search results. Fortunately, it is possible to give your site an advantage…

    3. Add great new content to many pages of your current site and create new pages.

Add 60 new high quality, well SEO’d articles that are shared and promoted socially and all of a sudden, you have 350 backlinks of which only 98 are spammy. Now less than one third of your backlinks are spammy and, from Google’s perspective, you are most likely a high quality site with a bit of webspam.

Much of Google’s algorithm metrics are relative. This means that if you have 98 spammy backlinks out of a hundred, then 85% of your backlinks are spammy and from Google’s perspective your site is most likely poor quality.

    4. Implement Penguin and panda friendly SEO techniques.

SEO is basically a bug in the search system. Google continually adapts to close up loopholes exploited by people attempting to derive greater benefit than the quality of their content warrants.

    The SEO Investment

So now the whole new game out there and the rules changed. Now you have to create high quality articles and Backlinks with many different anchor text key phrases. Diversify, diversify, diversify..

    5. Partner with only high quality SEO companies & services

Risking your business by trying to cheat Google’s search algorithms is not a sound business model. Instead, work with a reliable SEO consultant or partner to implement best practice SEO, which is designed to make your site as valuable and relevant as possible.

So there you have it, once again if you want the full list and all the information please contact me I be happy to help you , have a great day.

Directories are a great resource of Backlinks, Here is a great resource of directories!

As a Calgary marketing company, I'm always looking to provide great value for my clients and great information to you. Here's another great post on directories. I have compiled a phenomenal list Of Internet directories for you.

    Seo_and_directories

    Importance of Local Directories

Local business directories are a big factor in your company’s internet presence and online reputation. Local directories comprise of everything from Yelp!, Angie’s List and Judy’s Book to City Square, MojoPages and 100s of other location-based directories. Today, I want to talk about three reasons that you should submit your business to local business directories.

    Branding and Backlinks

Any company that has been around for any amount of time would tell you how important branding is for growth. Branding online is equally as important as traditional; local business directories means as it gives- your business one more place to advertise. Now you’re thinking “OK, that’s great, but outside of directories like Yellow Book and Angie’s List, if people don’t visit these sites how will they see my listing?” That’s where the search engines come in… Search engines want to give the searcher the most valuable information as quickly as possible, so not only will they display websites of the companies that the search engine believes relate to what you are looking for, they will also provide local listings, news, images, videos, and related directories among its results for the search term. This gives you more fishing lines in the water to hook a new customer and it is another opportunity to get your company name in front of the searcher.

New Visitors and Incoming Web Traffic

While many traditional web directories don’t provide much impact on new visitors to your website, local directories such as Angies List, SuperPages, and Yellow Book do still provide valuable referrals for your business. These business listing sites are also more often trusted than other places on the web or directories. Business listings such as these are often considered to be more trustworthy because they allow existing customers to post reviews and testimonials or they have business certifications, or other standards, that must be met before they will post the business as part of their network. In doing so, new visitors acquire more insight on whether or not they can trust a company based on other clients’ testimonies of the company and that can either persuade potential clients towards higher credited companies… or detour the searcher from businesses with unfavorable reviews.

    Search Engine Authority

Lastly and most importantly, local and international directories give you citations to build authority with the search engines like Google. The manner in which Google’s SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) are displayed, the area for Google Places displays predominantly at the top. While there are other ways to optimize your Google Places listing, one of the biggest factors is through citations. Citations are mentions of your name, address, and phone numbers on other sites. There are many places where you can get citations, however local business directories are the easiest way to build multiple citations quickly.

Have a great day and a great week.

Super back linking strategies and SEO information, that you absolutely must know!

Here is some information I came across that most companies should know themselves or hire a company who understands all this technical mumbo-jumbo as it will result in your website being ranked higher on Google. Therefore getting more leads, and therefore making more money!

This information is a little bit complicated and probably the average company owner or marketing person won't understand it, as it's pretty technical. Now I'm not saying this to seem really smart. I just find that when I talk to my clients about this. They get that kind of glazed look over their eyes and they have no idea when talking about. That's okay, if you get it great, if you don't understand it. Please contact me. I be happy to explain to you.

Backlinks are the backbone of any great SEO program.

The easiest way to increase your sites. Google PR if the buyback links in those pages which is then passed to your webpage and increases your PR weight!

Passed PR Weight - is Google PageRank weight, passed from the backlink page to your web page. This weight is calculated based on the Google PageRank Formula. For your convenience, below we provided a simplified explanation of Google PR Formula.

    Google_pr

Take a look in the above table, you'll see that to get PR4, you need to have 625 weight. Since your page has only 511.82 weight, it will get PR3.

Now, let's take a look at another example for you to see how important the number of outbound links is. For example, if you buy a backlink on PR6 page with only 1 outbound link, then your page will get the following PR weight: 15,625 (weight of PR6 page) / 2 (your link will become 2nd outbound link) - 15% = 6,640.62 weight. If your page is PR0, such backlink will increase your page PR to PR5 in the next  Google PR update!

All this means that when you purchase backlinks, you need to consider not only Google PR of the page, but also the number of outbound links on that page.
